So I know I have a lot to update on my blog, especially the inaguration and such, but I just had to post about my experience today on the metro. This isn't for the faint of heart so make sure you're children aren't reading.
To preface the story a bit, the turn-style at the metro station usually close in-between each person unless you have a smartrip card. With this card, you don't have to wait for them to close before you touch and go. I had to learn this just like everyone else....someone told me.
So this morning I was running a bit late for work, you know, Monday and all. The woman in front of me in the metro line waited for the man in front of her to walk through and then proceeded to stand there while the turn-style closed. I leaned a little forward and said, just trying to help, "Just to let you know, you don't have to wait for it to close. You can touch and go."
To my amazement, the woman whipped around and snarled, "I KNOW!"
"I was just trying to help. No need to get touchy."
"Look you little Bi*?@- DON'T CALL ME TOUCHY!!"
"My my... didn't we wake up on the wrong side of the bed this morning?"
"Do you want me to kick your A$$ and throw you down these stairs?!"
I laughed as I walked away. So you see from this, I love my new home and am able to make lots of great new friends. Did I mention the woman was in her late 50's?
